What do we do?
Though the farm has taken on many guises through the years, it has steadily developed into the thriving farm shop, tea rooms and tourist attraction that you see today. Alan, the current proprietor, runs the farm alongside son-in-law Jonny, and two sons Martin and Lewis - a true family business.
Recently converted to full organic status, the first of our home-grown crops are appearing in the shop, alongside our impressive range of quiche, cakes, slices and other treats, all prepared and cooked by hand on the premises using the finest ingredients. In the Deli section, we have a comprehensive array of the very best cheeses available, all on hand with expert advice, as well as slices of hand-carved ham and home roasted beef. Elsewhere, our commitment to local produce sees us supporting a host of regional suppliers, including Frosts butchers from Chorlton, Cheshire apple juice, and the gorgeous Dunham Massey ice cream made just a mile up the road.
Complimenting the shop is our award winning tea rooms, serving the very best in homemade lunches and treats. With a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, and open plan kitchen, you can see your lunch being carefully hand prepared to order. Specialities include our homemade quiche and soups, and amongst the popular treats is our luxury sponges, and scones freshly baked daily. There is always a healthy choice of hot and cold specials to compliment our changing seasonal menu, and the summer months allows us to open the doors to a relaxing outside seating area.
Ensuring we always have a vibrant atmosphere, we host a variety of activities throughout the year, the bedrock of which is our annual Maize Maze. Running from mid-July to early September, we attract thousands of visitors every year ready to take on the challenge of the maze, as well as enjoying the plethora of courtyard activities. Other events include periodic farmers markets, and seasonal activities at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
