1. Always talk to your DJ personally,if you go through an agency you will not know who your DJ is or anything about him/her until the night, too late to change your mind then, A good agent will pass the contact detais on.
2. Make sure when hiring a DJ he/she confirms everything in writing.
3. Safety requirements, make sure the DJ has PLI, many venues will not let an entertainer in without prducing a certificate.
   PAT testing is not a legal requirement but highly recommended.
   
4. Check the attitude of the DJ, does he/she listen to what you require or thinks he/she can "read the floor"
